It’s no secret that three-time American League Most Valuable Player Mike Trout will deliver the runs for the Los Angeles Angels. That’s his specialty since joining the team in 2011, as proven by his nine Silver Slugger Awards and 11 Major League Baseball All-Star appearances.

But with Shohei Ohtani already playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Trout is doing even more for the Angels by earning five stolen bases in 19 games. That’s the same amount of stolen bases he’s had from 2021 to 2023. Trout needs at least five more to have his first double-digit stolen base season since 2019 when he had 11.

He collected all five stolen bases in April. He had his first of the season on April 2, the second match of their three-game series against the Miami Marlins. Four games later, Trout had another one in their series closer versus the Boston Red Sox at home.

Finally, the two-time All-Star MVP had his next three in as many games, all against the Tampa Bay Rays. He had his third in the second game of their four-game schedule and another two in their series closer.

He is tied with six other players for the fifth-most stolen bases this season, putting him four behind MLB leader Brice Turang (9). Meanwhile, Trout’s career high for stolen bases in a season is 49, earned during the 2012 season. He had double-digit stolen base seasons from 2012 to 2019.

Aside from getting extra bases, Mike Trout still delivers the big hits. He is hitting .270/.357/.662 with eight home runs and 11 RBIs. He has 20 hits in 84 plate appearances.
