New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo earned his 300th career home run during his team’s dominant 15-5 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Yankees were already firmly ahead of the Brewers when he achieved the milestone.
At the top of the eighth inning, Rizzo drilled Janson Junk’s first pitch over the center-right wall. That two-run blast gave New York its 14th and 15th runs, settling its final run total and earning 15 runs in each of its last two games.

That hit is Rizzo’s fifth home run and 15th RBI of the season. He is hitting .277/.341/.446 with four doubles and 31 hits in 123 plate appearances. Against the Brewers, he earned a hit in all four plate appearances.
It was a fantastic performance throughout the Yankees' batting order. Aaron Judge earned three hits and three RBIs in four at-bats. Gleyber Torres, Anthony Volpe, Oswaldo Cabrera, and Jose Trevino each had two hits while combining for eight RBIs. Juan Soto had one hit and an RBI in five at-bats.
Meanwhile, the Yankees' hot hitting saved Marcus Stroman, who surrendered four runs and six hits in four innings. The victory improved New York’s American League East-leading 19-10 record. They are one game above the Baltimore Orioles for the division lead.
