New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo and Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm were named Players of the Week for April 22-28.
Rizzo was the American League’s best player during that stretch after hitting .407/.429/.926 with seven RBIs and four home runs. He earned two home runs against the Oakland Athletics and another two versus the Milwaukee Brewers.

He had seven hits in eight at-bats against the Brewers in back-to-back games. His steady play helped the Yankees establish a 19-11 record, staying toe-to-toe with the Baltimore Orioles for the AL East lead.
Conversely, Bohm is the National League’s best player after hitting .567/.581/.933 with nine extra-base hits and eight RBIs. He had 20 hits from April 21-28, including a perfect game on April 24 against the Cincinnati Reds, in which he had four hits in as many at-bats.
During that stretch, Bohm had at least three hits in four games, two of which came against the San Diego Padres. His impressive performance helped the Phillies win seven of their last ten games. Their 19-11 record puts them 1.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves in the National League East.
Rizzo will try to keep his hot streak going when they face the Baltimore Orioles on April 30 at 6:35 p.m. Eastern Time. Meanwhile, Bohm and the Phillies will play against the Los Angeles Angels at 9:38 p.m. ET.
