While Colton Cowser already played 26 games for the Baltimore Orioles in 2023, he is still considered a rookie. But unlike his first stint, he is establishing his place as one of the Baltimore Orioles’ vital cogs.
Colton Cowser’s achievements in the 2023 season are impressive. He is leading all American League rookies with a .301 batting average and has the highest number of home runs (6), RBIs (18), on-base percentage (.373), and slugging percentage (.644).

In his 86 plate appearances, he has secured 23 hits, including seven doubles. He joins Adley Rutschman and Jordan Westburg as the only Orioles players with a batting average over .300.
In April, Cowser had 22 hits in 74 at-bats. He had a three-hit game on April 11 against the Boston Red Sox, leading to four RBIs. He had four multi-hit games and four games with at least two RBIs.
His performance through 28 games starkly contrasts his output last season. In 2023, he hit .115/.286/.148 in 77 plate appearances over 26 games for the Orioles.
More importantly, his efforts helped the Orioles take the lead in the American League East at 19-10, one game in front of the New York Yankees. Baltimore will try to win its third straight game and eight of its last eleven when they face the Yankees on May 1 at 6:35 p.m. Eastern Time.
