All 30 Major League Baseball teams played on Tuesday, May 7, causing a barrage of balls to travel from home plate to the stands. There were 40 home runs over 15 games, including three grand slams, two multi-home-run games, two leadoff homers, and a walk-off hit.
Andy Ibañez connected on a solo home run off Logan Allen’s third pitch. The outfielder’s home run off a 2-0 count had the Detroit Tigers on the board first. They held on to an 11-7 victory over the Cleveland Guardians, giving them their 19th win in 36 games.

Meanwhile, Bryce Harper hit a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fourth inning against the Toronto Blue Jays. The two-time National League Most Valuable Player knocked Jose Berrios’ pitch off the ballpark, giving the Philadelphia Phillies an 8-0 lead. The Phillies finished with a 10-1 victory, improving their record to 26-11.
Cal Raleigh also had a pinch-hit grand slam off Steven Okert’s pitch, giving the Seattle Mariners a 6-4 lead over the Minnesota Twins in the top of the seventh inning. The Mariners won the game, 10-6, and are now at 20-16.
Max Muncy had the third grand slam when he sent Edward Cabrera’s 0-1 pitch to the left field seats. The Dodgers won the contest against the Miami Marlins, 8-2, giving them their 25th win in 38 games.
Finally, Michael Busch registered a walk-off home run against the San Diego Padres, giving the Chicago Cubs a 3-2 victory.
