The New York Giants signed free-agent wide receiver Allen Robinson II, and the contract terms remain a secret. Robinson played for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season after getting traded from the Los Angeles Rams. He finished his lone season in Pittsburgh with 280 receiving yards and zero touchdowns.
Robinson was among the NFL's best receivers earlier in his career. In 2015, he earned a Pro Bowl selection after tallying 80 receptions for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Five years later, he completed back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with 1,250 yards and six touchdowns for the Chicago Bears.

The Giants' signing of Robinson indicates their determination to improve their passing attack. After finishing 31st in passing yards per game last season, they need all the help they can get. None of their receivers last season reached 1,000 yards or five touchdown catches, highlighting the need for a player like Robinson.
In addition to Robinson, the Giants have Malik Nabers in their wideout corps. New York's NFC team selected the former LSU standout sixth overall in the 2024 NFL draft. Nabers and Robinson will compete for roster spots with Jalin Hyatt, Wan'Dale Robinson, Isaiah McKenzie, and Isaiah Hodgins. Meanwhile, Darius Slayton hasn't attended voluntary workouts to exercise his leverage for a new contract.
Robinson, a second-round pick in the 2014 draft, has 562 receptions for 7,028 yards and 43 touchdowns in ten NFL seasons.
