Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte has quietly established a 20-game hit streak, the longest active streak this season. It started on April 28 when he had one hit in four at-bats against the Seattle Mariners.
After which, he had four hits in their subsequent three-game series versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. He had a stretch of one-hit games from May 3 to 18, spanning their series against the San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, the Detroit Tigers, and the Dodgers again.

Marte has 56 hits in 194 at-bats and has a batting line of .289/.338/.848. While he’s finding the ball from the batter’s box, the Diamondbacks have struggled to generate more victories. At 23-26, they are nine games away from National League West leaders Dodgers. They are seventh in the Wild Card race, one game behind the Padres.
Last season, Marte batted .276/.358/.485 with 25 home runs and 28 RBIs. He helped the Diamondbacks clinch a World Series berth, which they eventually lost to the Texas Rangers. However, their run to the World Series was astonishing, starting with sweeps against the Milwaukee Brewers (Wild Card) and the Dodgers (NL Division Series).
Marte and the Diamondbacks survived the Philadelphia Phillies in a seven-game NL Championship Series despite going down 2-0.
Marte is hitting .279/.344/.457 with 116 home runs and 446 RBIs throughout his career. Meanwhile, he can continue his current streak in their May 22 road game against the Dodgers.
