Chiefs Being a Model of NFL Consistency

The Kansas City Chiefs are the epitome of NFL success. They have clinched three of the last five Super Bowl titles, including back-to-back victories in Super Bowls 57 and 58. As we look ahead to the 2024 season, the Chiefs are setting their sights on an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl title, a feat that would further solidify their place in NFL history.

But even before their current dynasty, the Chiefs have been consistently good for over a decade. Their dominant reign coincides with Andy Reid’s hiring in 2013. Before that year, the Chiefs finished 2-14 under Romeo Crennel.

With Reid calling the shots, the Chiefs earned a playoff berth after tallying 11 wins. Unfortunately, they lost their 2013 Wild Card showdown against the Indianapolis Colts.

Two years later, the Chiefs won their first postseason game since 1993 after beating the Houston Texans. However, the New England Patriots ended their season in the Divisional Round. 2015 also marked the start of nine consecutive playoff appearances for the Chiefs.

With Patrick Mahomes joining the Chiefs in 2017, the team achieved new heights by participating in every AFC Championship Game since 2018. They’ve had four Super Bowl appearances during that stretch, losing only to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55.

The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player will be healthy coming into the 2024 season. Likewise, the Chiefs upgraded the rotation around him by bringing in athletes like Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown. Barring any injury, they should earn another winning record and a playoff push.
