Major League Baseball has identified Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper and New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge as Players of the Month for May 2024.
Harper hit .313/.407/.583 throughout the month. His OPS (.990), RBIs (24), home runs (7), and F-WAR (1.4) were all first in the National League in May. His performance helped the Phillies win 20 games, maintaining their status as one of the league’s best teams.
His solid performance improved his season averages to .271/.376/.522 in 207 at-bats. He has 14 home runs and 44 RBIs in 56 games.
Meanwhile, Judge helped the Yankees take the MLB’s best record. In 28 games last month, the 2022 AL Most Valuable Player hit .361/.479/.918. He tallied 28 runs, 27 RBIs, 12 doubles, and 14 home runs. The last two numbers made him the first Yankees player to hit that many doubles and HRs in a month.

Judge led the majors in home runs, doubles, extra-base hits (26), slugging percentage, OPS, go-ahead RBIs (9), game-winning RBIs (7), and runs scored.
His performance helped the Yankees win 21 games that month. Judge’s batting average improved to .288, and his on-base percentage to .417. He leads the league in slugging percentage (.658), OPS (1.075), total bases (144), and home runs (21).
