Christian Walker Is a Home Run Machine Against Dodgers

While first baseman Christian Walker plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks, he feels at home at Dodger Stadium. He has a better feel for the ball whenever he is in Chavez Ravine, as proven by his home run tally at the said ballpark.

In their latest game against Los Angeles’ National League squad, Walker sent a 1-1 pitch by Landon Knack to the left-field stands. The two-run home run at the top of the third inning doubled the Diamondbacks’ lead, 4-0, and they eventually won 9-3. What’s more impressive is that it was already his second home run in the game as he knocked one out of the park, this time to the left-center field seats.

Those impressive at-bats give Walker seven home runs in six games at Dodger Stadium this season. Likewise, he blasted the ball over the fence at least once in his last five games at the stadium. That feat tied him with Willie Mays (1956 and 1959), Joe Adcock (1956), and Del Ennis (1955) as the only players with a single-season five-game home run streak against the Dodgers.

Walker also became the first MLB player to have seven home runs in a five-game span at Dodger Stadium. After those three splendid games, he is hitting .615/.688/1.846 in July. Walker also increased his season total to 22 home runs and 62 RBIs while hitting .271/.345/.871 in 329 at-bats.
