Jabrill Peppers, Patriots Agree to Three-Year Contract Extension

The New England Patriots and safety Jabrill Peppers have agreed on a three-year contract extension worth up to $30 million (including incentives). Peppers signed the extension after tallying 78 tackles, two interceptions, and eight pass deflections.

Peppers arrived in New England after signing a one-year contract during the 2022 offseason. He had 60 tackles and a fumble recovery in his first year with the six-time Super Bowl champions.

Before joining the Patriots, he played three years with the New York Giants. His stint in New York ended in an ACL tear and ankle sprain in 2021. However, he had his best year as a pro in 2020, finishing with 91 tackles, 11 pass deflections, and 2.5 sacks.

Peppers started his NFL career as a first-round selection by the Cleveland Browns in 2017. Despite winning the Lott Trophy and becoming a Unanimous All-American, he lasted in Cleveland for only two seasons after the Browns dealt him to the Giants as part of the Odell Beckham Jr. trade.

The three-year extension will keep Peppers under contract until 2027, putting him in a position to contribute to New England’s promising defensive secondary, featuring Kyle Dugger, Jonathan Jones, and Christian Gonzalez.
