New England Patriots quarterback Joe Milton made the most of the opportunity given to him during their preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. The rookie stepped onto Gilette Stadium in the second half and dazzled the audience.
He scrambled for a first down, evading multiple tackles before gaining enough yards. Then, he connected with JaQuae Jackson on a 38-yard touchdown pass to increase New England’s advantage to 17-0. Milton finished his part by completing four of his six passing attempts for 54 yards and five rushing attempts for 22 yards. His performance should excite Patriots fans, as they hope he can do the same during the games that count.

Patriots might have done it again in the 6th roundpic.twitter.com/JND66yfjS8
The Patriots selected the former Michigan and Tennessee standout in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 190 spots after New England took Drake Maye. In comparison, Maye completed two passes for 19 yards, while Jacoby Brissett did not complete a pass in three attempts.
While he didn’t take many snaps, Brissett tops the Patriots depth chart, with Maye, Bailey Zappe, and Milton following in that order. However, if Milton can build on this performance, he and Maye could have future quarterback battles.
