Last year we started a separate weekly newsletter during the season. Index Bets looks at the week's games from a gambling perspective: best overs, unders and prop bets each week. Week 2 kicked off last night, and so far, so good.
Khalil Shakir had over-unders at most sites of 3.5 receptions and 41-42 yards. He hit the overs on both in the second quarter. Not a great fantasy day, what with Buffalo not having to throw the ball much after halftime, but a pair of winning overs.
Below is sneak peek at a couple of other recommendations for this week. You can purchase Index Bets at the Fantasy Index Store -- by the month, or for the entire season. Happy betting, and good luck! (Please bet responsibly.)
Evan Engram was a Week 1 disappointment, like most of the top tight ends. Good week for him to bounce back, facing a Cleveland defense against whom he caught 11 passes for 95 yards and 2 TDs last season. His over-under of just 41.5 is one of my favorite bets from Sunday’s slate.
Last week we won a bet going under on Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich. We're going the other way this week. While Dulcich caught only 2 passes for 12 yards, he played two thirds of the snaps and saw 3 targets, both of which were higher than expected from Denver’s best receiving threat at the position. Two Bronco wideouts, Josh Reynolds and Devaughn Vele, are banged up, and this isn’t an offense deep enough at wide receiver that they have viable alternatives. Dulcich should see 4-5 targets and go over his number of just 23.5.
