Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers Had Breakout Games In Week 2

Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers would rather forget their NFL debuts. Nabers had the better outing, tallying five catches for 66 yards against the Minnesota Vikings. Conversely, Harrison had a disappointing performance, coming up with one catch for four yards versus the Buffalo Bills. However, the two rookie wide receivers finally proved why their teams selected them early in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Nabers paced the New York Giants in Week 2, finishing with ten catches out of 18 targets for 127 yards and a touchdown. He caught a four-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Jones before halftime, putting the Giants ahead 12-9.

Unfortunately, the former LSU standout failed to extend the Giants’ hopes for their first victory this season after he could not control a fourth-down catch before the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter. The Washington Commanders regained possession after the turnover on downs, which they capitalized on via an Austin Seibert game-winning field goal.

Despite that botched play, Nabers had an impressive showing against their division rival. After two games, he has 15 catches for 193 yards, including five plays of at least 20 yards. He also became the second wide receiver after Odell Beckham Jr. to have at least 15 targets and 200 air yards in a game before turning 22.

Meanwhile, Harrison ignited the Arizona Cardinals onslaught against the Los Angeles Rams by scoring the first two touchdowns. He caught his first touchdown four minutes into the game when he beat Tre’Davious White at the back of the end zone for a 23-yard reception.

Three minutes later, he completed a 60-yard touchdown catch by leaving Rams safeties Kamren Curl and Quentin Lake behind before extending the ball across the goal line. Harrison finished the game with four catches for 130 yards. More importantly, he sparked the Cardinals’ 41-10 domination of the Rams to earn their first win this season.
