While the Cleveland Browns were hosting the Baltimore Ravens, their winning odds were not great because the Ravens were on a five-game winning streak entering their Week 8 contest. However, Jameis Winston had other plans, leading the Browns to their second victory in eight games.
It took injuries to Deshaun Watson and Dorian Thompson-Robinson before Winston became the Browns starter. The one-time Pro Bowler did not waste his opportunity, finishing with 27 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns.
Winston waxed hot in the second half after a slow start. The former first-overall pick found David Njoku for a 23-yard touchdown pass that put Cleveland ahead 13-10. Then, he connected on two touchdown throws to Cedric Tillman. The second touchdown strike puts them ahead, 29-24, with 59 seconds left in regulation.

In addition to his two touchdown catches, Tillman finished with 99 receiving yards. Elijah Moore had 85, while Jerry Jeudy had five catches for 79 yards. Meanwhile, Nick Chubb led the Browns’ run game with 16 carries for 52 yards.
The Browns spoiled Lamar Jackson’s fantastic night, tallying 335 yards from scrimmage and two touchdown throws. After ending their five-game losing streak, the Browns can start a winning streak by defeating the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9. Conversely, the Ravens will try to bounce back as they host the Denver Broncos on Nov. 3.
