Bo Nix, Terrel Bernard, Chris Boswell Named AFC Players of the Week

The National Football League named Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, Buffalo Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard, and Pittsburgh Steelers placekicker Chris Boswell as the American Football Conference’s best players for Week 11 of the 2024 season.

Nix is the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after completing 84.8 percent of his passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns. This distinction makes him the first rookie quarterback in franchise history to win OPOW.

He became the first rookie in NFL history to have 300 passing yards, four passing touchdowns, and an 80 percent completion rate. Nix is also the third rookie quarterback after Dak Prescott (2016) and Justin Herbert (2020) to have multiple games with a completion percentage of at least 75 percent.

Meanwhile, Bernard is the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after making eight tackles and a sack against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, his interception of Patrick Mahomes preserved the Bills’ victory over the Chiefs, handing the two-time defending Super Bowl champions their first victory this season.

Finally, Boswell became the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after scoring all of the Steelers’ 18 points in their victory over the Baltimore Ravens. He has missed only one field goal attempt and converted all 20 extra point tries in ten games.

Nix and the Broncos can improve their playoff odds by beating their division rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders, in Week 12. Bernard and the Bills can extend their winning streak to seven games by beating the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13. Boswell and the Steelers can improve their winning streak to six games by defeating the Cleveland Browns in Week 12.
