The Sunday morning injury reports are coming out, and it looks like I'll be complaining some about Ian Rapoport this morning. I realize he doesn't need to care, but he has a lot of updates that are pretty useless.
Malik Nabers (hip) "has a realistic chance to play today", according to Rapoport. Not very helpful. But parsing around various reports, it sounds like even if he's active he might be on a snap count. Either way, his quarterback will be Drew Lock. I think there is more risk than potential reward in using Nabers if he plays.
Ladd McConkey (shoulder/knee) practiced on a limited basis all week, but Rapoport says he's "a true gametime decision." This is also unhelpful, what with the Chargers playing in the Sunday night game. I don't blame Rapoport for this one, there's not much he can do with the info he got. If you hope to use McConkey, best to line up an alternative on either the Chargers, Kansas City, or Cowboys-Bengals. If McConkey is out, Joshua Palmer, Quentin Johnston and Will Dissly all get boosts.
From Adam Schefter, George Pickens (hamstring) is expected to play. I'm counting on Pickens in an important matchup and a little nervous, but my alternative is not comparable so I'll probably be using him. If I had someone ranked similarly, I would not use him.
Bucky Irving (hip/back) is expected to play. So is Jakobi Meyers (ankle), D'Andre Swift (quad) and DJ Moore (quad). Use as ranked, at least based on the info we have at this point.
Alexander Mattison (ankle) is not expected to play. That's good news for Sincere McCormick, who should be the main runner, and Ameer Abdullah the main pass catcher. I think McCormick moves up to around 25th-30th at running back on the Friday update, higher in standard. (There are a lot of conditional rankings this week.) But it's a tough matchup with a strong Bucs run defense, and the Raiders might favor passing formations.
Dalton Kincaid (knee) is not expected to play, while Keon Coleman (wrist) is a gametime decision.
Rapoport also has some silly story about Davante Adams having leverage on where he plays next year. Yes, because there is zero chance the Jets don't cut him rather than pay him over $30 million. Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams will be plying their trade elsewhere next season, in all likelihood.
If I see anything else significant in the next couple of hours, I'll post in the comments below.
