After losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14, Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers would have to wait longer before clinching their spot in the AFC playoffs. However, Jim Harbaugh’s crew has been putting up a fight in every game, mainly because their franchise quarterback has been taking care of the ball.
In fact, Herbert’s streak of games without an interception puts him in the NFL record books with the greatest of all time. As the NFL on CBS account on X/Twitter pointed out, Herbert completed 11 consecutive starts without throwing a pick. That number ties him with Tom Brady (New England Patriots, 2010) for the longest streak without an interception.

Herbert had 21 completions for 213 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs. What’s more impressive is that he’s had only one interception this season, which occurred in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers.
Through 13 games, Herbert has completed 63.9 percent of his throws (234 of 366) for 2,764 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. The former Oregon standout added two rushing touchdowns out of 224 rushing yards.
Taking care of the ball allowed Herbert and the Chargers to enjoy an 8-5 record, which would make them the sixth seed if the regular season ended today. However, before cementing their playoff berth, Herbert can break Brady’s streak of interception-free starts in the Chargers’ Week 15 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
