The Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions scored 90 points in their 2024 Week 15 showdown. While both sides had their way on offense, the Buffalo Bills came out on top with a 48-42 decision. However, though Buffalo was victorious, the two starting quarterbacks deserve recognition.
Jared Goff did all he could, finishing with 38 completions for 494 yards and five touchdowns. Sadly, he became the first NFL quarterback to throw for over 400 yards and at least five touchdowns in a loss. Goff’s performance translated into Amon-Ra St. Brown, finishing with 193 yards and a touchdown. Sam LaPorta collected seven catches for 111 yards.
Meanwhile, Josh Allen led Buffalo with 23 completions for 362 yards and two touchdowns. The quarterback from Wyoming added 68 rushing yards and two touchdowns. His output helped Ty Johnson finish with five catches for 114 yards, while Keon Coleman had 64 yards on one catch.
This victory helped Allen become the first player in NFL history to have at least 35 passing and rushing touchdowns in four consecutive seasons. Allen continues to play error-free football, as he had zero sacks, fumbles, and interceptions in their last three games.

While Buffalo won, both teams have already booked their postseason ticket. Buffalo is at 11-3 and has clinched the AFC East. Meanwhile, the Lions are at 12-2 and can still earn the NFC’s top seed. If both teams do well in the playoffs, this game could be a preview of this season’s Super Bowl.
