At one point, the Denver Broncos were comfortably ahead during their Thursday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, Justin Herbert didn’t accept that outcome. He willed the Chargers from a 21-10 deficit to a 34-27 victory against their division rivals.
Herbert finished the game with 23 completions for 284 yards and two touchdowns. The quarterback from Oregon tallied the most completions in NFL history before turning 27 years old. In the second half against the Broncos, Herbert went 11 for 16, 144 yards, and two touchdowns.

Both of Herbert’s throws came in the fourth quarter. His 19-yard touchdown throw to Derius Davis gave the Chargers a one-point lead. Joshua Palmer’s acrobatic two-point reception stretched Los Angeles’ lead to three, 27-24.
Herbert’s 34-yard touchdown pass to Hassan Haskins stretched the lead to nine 33-24. Through Week 15, Herbert has completed 64.7 percent of his throws (278 of 430) for 3,243 yards and 18 touchdowns.
More importantly, the come-from-behind victory improved the Chargers’ record to 9-6, improving their odds of entering the AFC playoffs.
