While four NFC teams have secured their playoff spots, all divisions within the conference remain in contention with two weeks left in the 2024 NFL regular season. It’s a significant achievement that guarantees a home playoff game during the Wild Card Round.
The Philadelphia Eagles lead the NFC East by two games over the Washington Commanders. However, a collapse by the Eagles in their two remaining matches and a sweep by Washington could alter the order. After all, the Commanders defeated the Eagles in Week 16. Philadelphia will face the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants to close the regular season. Meanwhile, the Commanders will play the Atlanta Falcons and the Cowboys.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings are tied for the NFC North’s best record at 13-2. However, the Green Bay Packers are not far behind at 11-4. The Lions will play the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings, while the Vikings will face the Packers and the Lions. Green Bay will face the Bears in their regular season finale.
In the NFC South, the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have identical 8-7 records. The Buccaneers will close the regular season against the Carolina Panthers and the New Orleans Saints. Conversely, the Falcons, who hold the tiebreak over the Bucs, will play Washington and Carolina in their next two games.
Finally, the NFC West is up for grabs. The Los Angeles Rams lead the division at 9-6 and will play the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17. Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks are knocking at the door at 8-7 and will play the Bears in Week 17. Therefore, the Rams hosting the Seahawks in Week 18 could decide the division.
