Cooper Rush has been surprisingly good as a fill-in quarterback for the Cowboys. Except when they’re playing Philadelphia; then, he’s been terrible.
Since Rush was able to win his way onto the Dallas roster with a sterling preseason, he’s started 14 games in place of Dak Prescott – one in 2021, five in 2022 and eight in the current season.
In his 11 games against opponents other than Philadelphia, Rush has been able to put a playoff-caliber product on the field. He’s gone 9-2 in those games, averaging 235 passing yards, with 16 TDs versus only 3 interceptions – he’s been able to keep the train running.
But in his three games against the Eagles (all losses) he’s been pretty dreadful, completing less than 52 percent of his passes, with 2 TDs and 5 interceptions. He’s averaged only 124 yards in those games.
Via passer rating, Rush has finished with a passer rating under 75 in three of his 14 starts. They’ve all been against the Eagles.
