Eagles Dominate Packers To Reach Divisional Round

The Philadelphia Eagles have had the Green Bay Packers’ number this season. In addition to winning their regular season matchup in Brazil, the NFC East champions dominated the Packers in their Wild Card Round matchup 22-10.

The Eagles struck early when Jalen Hurts found Jahan Dotson for an 11-yard touchdown pass barely two minutes into the game. Jake Elliott’s extra point and subsequent field goal made the count 10-0. In the third quarter, Hurts’ 24-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert made the count 16-3. Two more Elliott field goals settled Philadelphia’s final score. Saquon Barkley, who finished with 119 rushing yards, slid in his final carry to secure his team’s victory.

Meanwhile, Packers quarterback Jordan Love struggled to solve the Eagles' defense, finishing with 20 completions out of 33 attempts for 212 yards, zero touchdowns, and three interceptions. Green Bay’s only points came from a Brandon McManus field goal, an extra point, and a Josh Jacobs rushing touchdown.

While the two teams had nearly identical times of possession (30:33-29:27), the Eagles took care of the ball, finishing with zero turnovers. In addition to Love’s three picks, the Packers lost a fumbled ball when Keisean Nixon turned the ball over to Jeremiah Trotter during the opening kickoff. That turnover led to a short field for Philadelphia, leading to Dotson’s touchdown in only three plays.

The victory gives the Eagles the advantage to host the Minnesota Vikings or the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round.
