The Dallas Cowboys have parted ways with Mike McCarthy as the two parties failed to agree on his contract extension terms. This development ends McCarthy’s tenure in Dallas after five seasons, finishing with a 50-38 record with the Cowboys.
However, while the Cowboys came up short of a playoff appearance, the next coach has some exceptional talent to work with. On offense, Dallas has Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, who was a First-Team All-Pro member last year. Meanwhile, the Cowboys defense have Micah Parsons, DaRon Bland, and Trevon Diggs.
Sources: Mike McCarthy is out as #Cowboys coach.

Some reports shared that Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones reached out to Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders. It would be a homecoming for the former defensive back who played five seasons for Dallas.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ opening might interest former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, who has taken over the head coaching job at the University of North Carolina. Belichick has a close relationship with Jones, who went on record saying that passing on Belichick after the Cleveland Browns fired him might be a mistake.
More developments will unfold in the coming days as the NFL’s most valuable franchise finds its next head coach. Therefore, the football world will closely monitor who McCarthy’s replacement will be.
