Another Promising Season Wasted for Josh Allen

While the Buffalo Bills were slight underdogs in their AFC Championship Game showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs, some football experts favored them to win. After all, Josh Allen was having a season that could win him an NFL Most Valuable Player award.

Unfortunately, Allen and the Bills came up short against the Bills. The former Wyoming standout is now 0-4 in the playoffs against the Chiefs and 3-6 including regular season matchups. As the Chiefs compete for their third consecutive Super Bowl title, the Bills are facing another offseason of uncertainty after being on the losing end again.

However, Allen deserves credit for sustaining the Bills’ status as the AFC East’s top dogs, even if he doesn’t have another All-Pro teammate. He finished the season with 307 completions or 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns while adding 531 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.

Allen threw only six interceptions throughout the season, none in the playoffs. That’s a significant improvement from the double-digit interceptions he had in five of his first six seasons. Sadly, his steady performances went up in smoke as they suffered another early elimination. The Bills are back in the drawing board, hoping to diagram a solution to end their Super Bowl drought.
