Ask the Experts

What is your preliminary Top 10 for 2025?

Saquon, Gibbs, Bijan and lots of WRs

ASK THE EXPERTS appears weekly from training camp through the Super Bowl with answers to a new question being posted Thursday morning. This is the final question of the season. How the guest experts responded when we asked them: What is your preliminary Top 10 for the 2025 season?

MIKE NAZAREK

  1. Saquon Barkley - Barkley succeeds CMC at the top in 2025. He averaged nearly 2.5 PPR points above everyone in 2024 and as long as he's healthy, he should continue that domination behind the impressive Eagles offensive line.
  2. Ja'Marr Chase - As good as Barkley was on the ground, Chase was just as good via the pass. With Tee Higgins likely to move on, Chase could see his 175 targets grow to more than 200 in 2025! And if you take Chase over Barkley at No. 1, I really can't blame you!
  3. Bijan Robinson - Why Bijan over Jahmyr? Simply put, there is no David Montgomery in Atlanta. Robinson proved himself in a huge way in 2024 and with better QB play, B-Rob's production could push Barkley for the top spot.
  4. Amon-Ra St. Brown - He finished WR3 in both 2023 and 2024, showing no signs of slowing down. He also has a locked in QB in Jared Goff, unlike Justin Jefferson. That said, Jefferson could still surpass St. Brown in 2025, but it likely won't be by much (he did by 5 points in 2024). Let's just call him the "safe" pick in the early-to-middle first round in 2025!
  5. Justin Jefferson - It's no wonder that Jefferson is right on the tail of St. Brown, and if J.J. McCarthy turns into an immediate fantasy producer, Jefferson could easily repeat his WR2 finish.
  6. Jahmyr Gibbs - Despite the presence of David Montgomery, Gibbs still produced nearly 2,000 total yards with 20 scores in 2024. That makes him an easy pick for the top half of the first round in fantasy drafts.
  7. CeeDee Lamb - Lamb finished as the WR1 overall in 2023, but fell to WR8 in 2024 after missing the final two games of the season. That said, he still topped 100 catches for nearly 1,200 yards and 6 scores. If he stays healthy, he should rebound with a healthy Dak Prescott to 120+ catches for 1600+ yard and double-digit scores.
  8. Puka Nacua - This ranking assumes Matthew Stafford returns to the Rams in 2025. It also assumes Cooper Kupp will be traded. It's clear that Nacua is a WR1 for fantasy, and if he stays healthy, he should be a lock for 100+ catches for 1500+ yards and 10+ scores in 2025.
  9. Derrick Henry - Age wise, this ranking makes little sense, but Henry is just a different beast. He finished RB4 in 2024, and there is no reason why he can't duplicate that feat in 2025.
  10. Nico Collins - He caught 68 passes and topped 1,000 yards with 7 scores in only 12 games in 2024, so if he stays healthy, he should top 100 catches for 1,300+ yards and double-digit TDs.

IAN ALLAN

Quarterbacks fluctuate based on scoring system. In a Superflex league, they can be at the top of the board; in more traditional leagues, it’s tough to justify taking one in the top 10. But Burrow, Jackson and Allen, I think will be my top three. If we’re in a typical 12-team format, I expect we’ll be looking at running backs and wide receivers dominating the early action. Perhaps Barkley and Gibbs first, followed by those three LSU receivers. And I really like those two young tight ends, Trey McBride and Brock Bowers. In a PPR format, I think they get in the conversation about 10 picks in. RB Saquon Barkley, RB Jahmyr Gibbs, WR Ja'Marr Chase, WR Malik Nabers, WR Justin Jefferson, RB Josh Jacobs, RB Bijan Robinson, RB Jonathan Taylor, WR Puka Nacua, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, RB Derrick Henry, WR CeeDee Lamb, TE Brock Bowers, TE Trey McBride.

ANDY RICHARDSON

  1. Ja'Marr Chase - Pretty convinced he will again be the most heavily targeted receiver in the game's best passing offense working with arguably the league's best quarterback.
  2. Justin Jefferson - He will not have the league's best quarterback, but he is one of the very best wide receivers in one of the pass-happiest offenses. That's enough to ensure another big year.
  3. Bijan Robinson - I'm very interested in the Michael Penix-led offense, and I think Robinson will be a workhorse runner and very busy receiver in it. Two running backs were better last year, but Bijan is the one most likely to take another step up.
  4. Puka Nacua - I'm convinced I'd have won a league where I missed the playoffs had Nacua not been hurt early on. When he's on the field, he's a target magnet: only two receivers averaged more catches per game.
  5. Saquon Barkley - Obviously, I will not be getting Barkley this late in drafts. But that's OK, because the guy just had his best season, and I'm comfortable it will remain his best season. A step back (injury, most likely, but simple wear-and-tear slowing him down or resulting in fewer touches) seems certain to me.
  6. Jahmyr Gibbs - Gibbs helped me win an important league last year, and I'll always have a warm feeling for him. But there's no getting around the fact that three of his four best weeks (PPR) were the final three weeks of the season -- with David Montgomery sidelined. Just a little less upside, if we assume Montgomery healthy.
  7. Amon-Ra St. Brown - The Lions will have other pass catchers involved, plus a new offensive coordinator. But there is no doubt that St. Brown will be the receiver that makes the passing game go, probably averaging some 9 targets and 7 catches per week.
  8. Malik Nabers - Along with wanting a go-to player, I'm intrigued by a guy who's so good he can rise above what's around him, and hasn't yet played his best football. Nabers had arguably the worst quarterback situation in the league last year, and he missed 2 entire games. He still had 6 more receptions than all but two wide receivers and 12 more targets than anyone but Chase.
  9. CeeDee Lamb - I'm looking forward to the Cowboys with Mike McCarthy gone. Yes, he's been successful, but he's also been fortunate to always have great quarterbacks. If Prescott is healthy, I'm confident Lamb will be one of the most productive and busiest receivers, even with a new coaching staff.
  10. De'Von Achane - I was a vocal skeptic of the Dolphins back last season, and in some respects I was right: injuries (both to him and his quarterback) did result in some lesser games. But his involvement and production, especially as a receiver, when Tagovailoa was healthy gave him a lot of huge weeks too. I think the days of another back being used a significant amount are over, and Achane will be a top-5 or 6 player at the position. But we’ll see: maybe when push comes to shove I will go safer, ala Jonathan Taylor.
