Bills, Khalil Shakir Agree to Four-Year, $60.2 Million Contract Extension

The Buffalo Bills and wide receiver Khalil Shakir have agreed to a four-year, $60.2 million contract extension. The new deal includes $32 million guaranteed and $18 million to be paid in the first 12 months. Shakir will remain with Buffalo until the 2029 season when he turns 29.

Shakir’s contract extension will significantly bump his potential earnings from $3.2 million to double-digits in 2025. It’s a well-deserved contact after establishing career highs in receptions (76), receiving yards (821), and touchdowns (4) last season. He was an integral factor in the Bills’ 2024 playoff run which lasted until the AFC Championship Game.

The Bills selected the former Boise State standout in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft and signed him to a four-year, $4 million rookie scale contract. He finished his rookie season with 10 receptions for 161 yards and a touchdown. The following year, he improved his numbers to 39 receptions for 611 yards and two touchdowns.

Shakir will be one of the main passing targets for quarterback Josh Allen, who is signed with the Bills until 2028.
