Rome Odunze had an iffy rookie year, falling well short of the other two wide receivers selected with top-10 picks. But a month into year two, he’s looking like he might be better than those guys.
The Bears don’t have Keenan Allen anymore, and that’s allowed Odunze to move up into a more prominent role in their offense. He caught 6 passes, including a touchdown in the opener. And he had the best game of his career last week, catching 7 passes for 128 yards and 2 TDs. He’s looking like he’s for real.
Malik Nabers and Marvin Harrison have been more successful so far, but Odunze might be in a better situation. The Bears have one of the best offensive coaches in the league, and it’s apparent Odunze is now their No. 1 guy – the pass catcher they’re building around. DJ Moore seems to have receded into a lesser role.
With Nabers, the Giants can’t seem to get out of their own way; they’ll likely be bringing in a new coach in the offseason. With Harrison, he’s hasn’t been able to get on the same page with Kyler Murray. Harrison has caught only 54 passes in his last 15 games.
So it’s a discussion, I think, when trying to decide which of these receivers should be best in a dynasty format – when you’ve got them for not only this season, but 2026 and beyond. I think still Nabers, while I’d be torn between Odunze and Harrison.
At the top of the board, I think we’d still be looking at Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb. Jefferson and Chase both have quarterback issues right now, which might cause those focusing more on 2025 to roll with Lamb.
My current dynasty league receiver list appears below. The methodology for these rankings is different than the other lists we publish. For all of our other rankings, they’re built around making team projections, then dividing up those stats amongst the players on the roster.
With the dynasty rankings, I’m just working with a player list and going off gut feel, trying to balance what they’re doing right now, what they might be doing in future years, and how many good years they might have left. While I’m looking at those player ages, I’m also placing more stock in the 2025 season than any season that will come later.
Rankings assume PPR scoring, and I’m thinking of a 12-team fantasy league, with each perhaps carrying 7-8 receivers and using about 3 in its weekly lineup.
I touch on dynasty rankings every Saturday during the season, rotating between the four notable positions. Past issues can be accessed by clicking on the “IN-DEPTH” option on the menu bar and finding “PAST ISSUES”.
