Sunday Morning Injury Updates

Swift to play, Smith-Njigba illing

Minimal changes from what we already knew, but here are a few of the news items floating about this morning.

  • Emeka Egbuka (hip, groin) will play, but might see limited snaps. For me, Egbuka shows up a handful of spots lower than he's listed in the Friday update, based on this report.

  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba (illness) showed up as questionable. A "bug," presumably stomach or somesuch. I'm assuming he'll be pumped full of Vitamin C and good to go, but I guess if you were agonizing between him and someone ranked in the same area, you could choose the guy who wasn't sick yesterday. But I usually ignore these issues, unless we hear or see him vomiting on the sideline before the game.

  • Two Bears-Cowboys developments. D'Andre Swift (quad) is expected to start for Chicago. He's not great, but it's a good matchup, and it kills the appeal of maybe trying Kyle Monangai, since he'll be the backup. Also, the Cowboys defense was already down one cornerback, and might not have Trevon Diggs, questionable with a knee injury. A plus for the Bears offense and passing game.

  • Tyler Warren (toe) good to go for the Colts.

  • Xavier Worthy (shoulder) ruled out for Kansas City at the Giants.

  • Mac Jones to start for the 49ers, Brock Purdy out. Most knew this, but the Niners have no interest in being helpful with their injury reports, holding out hope for injured players beyond all reasonable expectations.

If I see anything else of note before the early games kick off, I'll post in the comments.
