Well I hope nobody started Jaylen Warren, who was supposedly expected to be active as recently as yesterday's Adam Schefter report, but wound up inactive. A reminder, I guess, that some of these "expected to play" reports are just guesses.
Keeping that in mind, here's what is being reported so far this morning:
For San Francisco, both Jauan Jennings (shoulder, ankle) and Ricky Pearsall (knee) are expected to play. Jennings, reportedly, will be limited, so if you need more reason not to start a banged-up guy listed with two injuries, there you go. I would not start Jennings. Pearsall, I answered a few questions on him yesterday and feel the same. Should play, but if you have a comparably ranked option, safer to go with the healthy one.
Davante Adams (hamstring) is expected to play. Also worth avoiding if you have somebody else ranked about the same, although generally I feel OK using him (if it were an actual pull, he wouldn't be playing).
Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who I plan to start referring to as JCM whenever I can, is expected to play through his knee issue. In an uncertain three-back committee, so a modest choice.
Isaiah Likely (foot) is expected to play for Baltimore. If you really want to start a tight end who doesn't even make it into the top 35 at the position on our cheat sheet, have at it. I'd rather see him get through a game without limping off before considering starting him, though I guess anything is possible.
Couple of tight ends, Noah Fant (concussion) and Colston Loveland (hip) won't play. Their absences make Mike Gesicki for Cincinnati and Cole Kmet for Chicago better, but still not great choices (lots of other receivers in Chicago and a couple of other tight ends in Cincinnati, and with a tough matchup at Denver.
In other Chicago news, D'Andre Swift (hip) is expected to play. Can't be too bad of a hip injury if a running back is able to play through it.
Carolina is expected to have Chuba Hubbard (calf), preventing anyone from accidentally starting Rico Dowdle. And Tetairoa McMillan (calf) will also play.
If I see anything else of note before the early kickoffs, I'll post in the comments below.
