It's Sunday morning, and there aren't a lot of surprising injury developments. Most of them occurred yesterday (some were apparent even before that). But here's what we have.
The Falcons will be starting Kirk Cousins at quarterback. Feels like they probably knew this before yesterday, with Michael Penix battling a bone bruise in his knee, but blah blah competitive advantage and so forth. Cousins is a viable option, but I do think the Falcons will be favoring the run against a Dolphins defense that can't stop. Moreover, Drake London was downgraded to questionable yesterday with a hip injury, so there's suddenly doubt as to whether Cousins will have his top wideout available. We'll know for sure in about half an hour.
Tyler Huntley starts for the Ravens, with Lamar Jackson (hamstring) ruled out. You've probably heard the controversy about this one, with the Ravens initially saying Jackson practiced fully on Friday. That's a problem for Baltimore and John Harbaugh's wallet. And the on-field product, with the Ravens less certain to put up big offensive numbers against Chicago with Huntley in the lineup.
For the Jets it will be Justin Fields at quarterback, throwing to Mason Taylor, and also Breece Hall starting at running back. No Tyrod Taylor, Garrett Wilson or Josh Reynolds. No one was starting Reynolds, but trying to be thorough. Fields is a fantasy option for his running potential, and since he's facing the Bengals, maybe he'll throw for some yards and a touchdown too.
Christian Watson (knee) has been activated and will play for Green Bay tonight. Probably limited snaps, and either he'll catch a touchdown or get shut out entirely.
There's a bunch of trade rumors out there, most of which seem pretty unlikely to me. Jakobi Meyers still wants to be traded, but it doesn't sound like there's a huge market. Teams are "listening to calls" for some names, including Brian Thomas (!), A.J. Brown, and Rashid Shaheed, but those reports could be anything -- player agents wanting to create a market, teams wanting to create a market, or players actually on the market. I tend to lean skeptical until we get something a little more concrete, but people can believe what they want.
If I see any noteworthy or surprising inactives I'll post in the comments below.
