The realities of the publishing business work against magazine schedules at times. We're working on our annual preseason magazine, yet some quality players simply won't sign soon enough for us to write about it.
This is especially true at wide receiver. Veteran running backs who aren't signed right now probably aren't signed because nobody thinks they have much left. (For example, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.) But there are a lot of capable wide receivers who maybe are in no rush to sign because they don't care for OTAs or just haven't seen the kind of contract offers they'd like. Others, granted, are either coming off injury or have legal stuff going on.
Several of the guys available have put up good or very good numbers in recent years. Like Keenan Allen, Deebo Samuel and Stefon Diggs.
Table shows per-game numbers for wide receivers who've played at least half the games over the past two years, sorted by PPR scoring. Players are shown with their current teams.
Allen, Samuel and Diggs are healthy free agents currently out of work. Tyreek Hill is coming off a significant injury, so I'm not sure he's going to be signing with anyone anytime soon. Not listed, because he hasn't played enough the last two years to quality for the table, is Brandon Aiyuk, who is supposedly headed to Washington ultimately. And A.J. Brown is reportedly going to ultimately be in New England; I bolded him too.

Allen, according to the story today, is open to a return to the Chargers. Whether that happens or not will have a huge impact on where Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, among other Chargers receivers, should be slotted in rankings and selected in drafts. And Samuel signing somewhere will certainly impact that roster, Diggs perhaps even more so.
Hopefully these things have resolution soon.
