Various media outlets are reporting that tight end Fred Davis is returning to Washington on a one-year deal. It's a good get for Washington, which lost a lot of production when Logan Paulsen replaced him in the starting lineup.
Davis is coming off an Achilles injury, but says he's healthy, and apparently received a contract offer from Buffalo -- more than he was being offered to stay in Washington. It's another key member of the offense coming back from injury (the other, of course, is Robert Griffin III), but if healthy, he'll likely be the team's No. 2 receiver behind Pierre Garcon.
Davis in six full games last year: 23 catches, 312 yards (4 rec, 52 yards per game).
Paulsen in 10 starts last year: 24 catches, 286 yards (2.4 rec, 29 yards per game).
