Who emerges from young wideouts?

As recently as 2011, Buffalo's next three wideouts behind Stevie Johnson were David Nelson (658 yards), Naaman Roosevelt (257) and Donald Jones (231). Today all those players are gone, and the team's 2-3-4-5 wideouts will likely be rookies and second-year players.

A year ago the Bills selected speedster T.J. Graham in the third round. This year they took Robert Woods in the second and Marquise Goodwin in the third, and then outbid a number of other teams to sign Da'Rick Rogers as an undrafted free agent.

Rogers, who was this year's "best available" talent for the last several rounds of the draft, was given a first-round grade by the Bills (and many draftniks) on talent, but went undrafted after being kicked out of Tennessee for multiple failed drug tests, finishing up at Tennessee Tech. Strange to say given the two earlier picks, but it's Rogers who might be the best bet to start opposite Johnson this year (or flame out of the league entirely).

Goodwin is a smallish speedster, more likely to get on the field as a situational deep threat; the Bills want to go up-tempo this year. Woods also has good speed and good hands; he'll probably be selected first in most rookie dynasty drafts.

One thing is clear, two of these wideouts can be expected to make some kind of impact in the Bills lineup this year. The team hasn't really left itself much other choice.
