Glennon could push Freeman quickly

When the Bucs used a third-round pick on quarterback Mike Glennon, the initial thought was that he was just a guy to bring along slowly behind Josh Freeman. But there have been hints all offseason that Greg Schiano wasn't totally in Freeman's camp, and now it seems Glennon's impact could be felt sooner rather than later.

Dan Pompei's article in the National Football Post suggests "Schiano finally has his man at quarterback." Schiano, head coach at Rutgers back when Glennon was coming out of high school, had recruited the strong-armed passer way back then.

The articles notes that while Glennon's rep is that of an immobile pocket passer, Schiano believes he can move in the pocket and extend the play. He won't be a dual-threat quarterback, but neither is Freeman, and that's not what Tampa Bay's offense requires.

Glennon is a guy to keep an eye on in the preseason; Freeman is in the final year of his rookie deal.
