Most Fantasy Index readers don't like the team Ian Allan drafted in the Fanex Analysis Draft. He gets out his stat projections to explain why he believes his team is the best.
I posted a few articles on the Fanex Analysis Draft a few weeks back. This was the draft where I traded down four times and tended to collect wide receivers, while most other experts were trying to hoard running backs.
Most readers who chimed in tended to think I should have also emphasized running backs -- starting with taking Ray Rice or Jamaal Charles rather than trading the 6th pick.
But there is a method to the madness. I am a professional. I know what I'm doing. I've been in this league six times, and I've won it in three of those years. (I also placed 2nd one year).
So while most of the I-gotta-take-running-backs crowd will probably still disagree with me, I will attempt to show numerically why I believe my team is the best. And not just by a little. According to my stat projections, I should finish over 200 points ahead of most of the other teams.
I've listed out all of the teams below, along with my stat projection for each player. This is PPR scoring, so you want guys who will catch a lot of passes. You also must start 3 wide receivers, and there's a flex guy.
For crude scoring, I'm listing for each team a QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, PK, Defense and 2 flex (RB-WR-TE). Now, with actual scoring, you use only one flex, but with injuries and byes, I figured I'd just throw another one in there. I'll ignore the final nine games on each roster.
Using my player projections, I think my team should finish among the leaders. It's well ahead of the other 11 franchises. The team I believe will finish in last is managed by the guy who went most crazy for running backs (opening his draft with four of them).
