Factoid

Is Baltimore bad? Or extra motivated?

Allowed 7 TD passes to Peyton Manning in Week 1

The Ravens got beat up by Peyton Manning in Week 1, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be picked apart by Brandon Weeden today. Instead, the opposite might be true. Ian Allan explores.

When a defense gets scorched, that's a test of its manhood. Their pride has been hurt.

So you can be sure everybody was working hard in practice all week. Coaches have made corrections. They'll be playing hard, because they want to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Since the merger, defenses have given up 6 TD passes 15 times. But look at what those defenses have done the following week. Only two allowed more than one touchdown passes. None allowed 240 passing yards. Only one of the last 10 of these defenses allowed even 200 passing yards.

The feeling here is that the Week 1 butt-kicking via Peyton Manning actually makes the Ravens defense a harder assignment for Brandon Weeden.
