Tis the season for Gore in Super League

Halloween approaches with the Jaguars getting stomped across the pond

That's twice now I've been burned by Eli Manning this season; never again. The Vikings might be pulling defensive backs out of nearby bus stations and Manning still won't throw multiple touchdowns. I give up.

My week was OK, but I remain mired just inside the top 200. Safe to assume I'm not gonna win this thing. But there are still the weekly prizes, so I'll go for those. As everyone knows, in this Super League competition you pick your best lineup of 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 2 TEs, and 2 PKs. You can enter at this link. You're competing against Fantasy Index staffers and your fellow readers, and you can win prizes, both weekly and overall.

Here's the Week 8 lineup.

Quarterbacks: Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers. Manning and Rodgers both have tasty matchups with soft secondaries. Drew Brees is also a possibility here.

Running Backs: Frank Gore and Marshawn Lynch. As it happens, I'm facing both of these guys in my most important league this week; ouch. At least their huge games against me will benefit me here, as they match up with the two worst run defenses in the league.

Wide Receivers: Jordy Nelson, Calvin Johnson and Dez Bryant. Easy choices this week -- Nelson against Minnesota's hapless secondary, Johnson and Bryant facing coverage-challenged opposition in pass-happy matchups. Too easy? We'll see.

Tight Ends: Julius Thomas and Rob Gronkowski. Jimmy Graham is iffy, so I may as well go with two other great tight ends in great matchups.

Kickers: Mason Crosby and Matt Prater. They're kickers.

Good luck to the rest of you.
