At the risk of bragging, but what the heck, because I started out so poorly in this thing I've earned it, I've been nailing these lineups lately. I've put up 187 points in back-to-back weeks, and both times I've done so with a Monday night dud: Marshawn Lynch being bizarrely underutilized against the Rams, and Aaron Rodgers leaving with an owie against the Bears. (By the way, I pick on Rodgers, but I know what it's like to break a collarbone -- I did it three times when I was kid.)
Anywho, if I'd gone with Drew Brees instead of Rodgers last week, I would have zoomed from No. 5 to No. 1. I'm not even sure Index would have given me the gift card, me being on the staff and all, but the bragging would have been nice. OK, time to get to this week's Super League lineup.
In this competition you pick your best lineup of 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 2 TEs, and 2 PKs. You can enter at this link. You're competing against Fantasy Index staffers and your fellow readers, and you can win prizes, both weekly and overall.
Quarterbacks: Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. No need to get cute when these guys are playing.
Running Backs: Chris Johnson and Alfred Morris. A lot of good running back choices this week, including Adrian Peterson in the same game as Morris, Matt Forte against Detroit, and Marshawn Lynch in Atlanta. Eddie Lacy against Philly, too. But Johnson faces Jacksonville, and I have to use him. Maybe I'll sub out Morris, but isn't it his turn for a multi-TD game?
Wide Receivers: Pierre Garcon, Eric Decker, Keenan Allen. Again, lots of great options. But I am going with Garcon against the Vikings' awful secondary and wideouts in Broncos-Chargers, which has a 57-point over under, the highest I can recall seeing. Maybe I'll switch off Allen to Megatron or Marshall, we'll see.
Tight Ends: Jordan Reed and Jimmy Graham. Minnesota can't cover anyone. No explanation necessary on Graham.
Kickers: Robbie Gould and Adam Vinatieri. Home teams that should score plenty.
Good luck to the rest of you.
