ASK THE EXPERTS appears weekly from training camp to Super Bowl with answers to a new question being posted Thursday morning. How the guest experts responded when we asked them: Who will be the MVP of the fantasy playoffs?

ALAN SATTERLEE

I like Cam Newton to lead teams to glory -- both for real in the NFL and in fantasy. The city of Charlotte is a-buzz as the team comes into Week 14 with an 8-game winning streak and with Cam Newton playing exceptional. Over the last three weeks, Cam has averaged 215 passing yards and 2 passing 2 TDs per game - plenty solid - but he's also chipped in with 60 yards rushing on average and scored two more times on the ground. The Panthers have home games in Weeks 15 and 16, with first a chance to feast on the dysfunctional Jets (who has a good defense but they will be even more downtrodden by Week 15) and then a massive home game in Week 16 against the Saints, in a game that should be filled with fireworks and could likely decide the NFC South. If you play in Week 17, Cam then gets to play at Atlanta. It's also worth noting that fantasy teams sporting Detroit Lions will likely be hoisting fantasy trophies as well. As the Lions seek to win the NFC North, they will play against Baltimore in Week 15, but at home in a dome; at Week 16, at home against the Giants in a dome; and then for good measure, Week 17 at Minnesota in a dome.

I know this isn't exactly going out on a limb, but Detroit Lions wideout Calvin Johnson is my choice. He has a very favorable schedule -- Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York Giants -- and is the most dominant player in the game. The Lions never shy away from throwing the ball, either, and Reggie Bush has forced defenders to play more honestly, even though it rarely matters. Honorable mentions: Eddie Lacy, Tony Romo, Robert Griffin III.

I was messing around with the Strength of Schedule data. Shows that the Cowboys and Packers have the easiest remaining schedules for run defenses (in large part because they’re both playing the Chicago Bears). So me likes DeMarco Murray and Eddie Lacy. That info also suggests that Philadelphia will face the softest pass defenses, so count me among the group that believes Nick Foles and Riley Cooper can keep it up.

SAM HENDRICKS

Jamaal Charles. He has a favorable schedule (@WAS, @OAK, IND @SD). He leads the league in targets. He is healthy and KC has a good defense that will provide him with scoring opportunities. What more can you ask of a MVP? Josh Gordon would have been my first choice but the fact that Alex Tanney (or Caleb Hanie) may be throwing to "Flash" Gordon scares me.

Surprise players that excel for the next three weeks? DeMarco Murray, Eddie Lacy, Torrey Smith and DeSean Jackson.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the MVP of the upcoming fantasy playoffs will be equivalent to the league's most productive player to date, Peyton Manning. His record-breaking pace notwithstanding, the schedule lines up very nicely for the Broncos to continue producing as they have through 12 contests. The slate includes home dates the next two weeks versus the Titans and a divisional foe in the Chargers, the latter of which will arrive on a short week. Denver then rounds out the year with road outings at Houston and Oakland. Only the Titans figure to pose a threat to a Manning-led attack due to yielding just two touchdown passes in the past eight games, but many playoffs kick off in Week 15 anyway, when the remaining tilts feature favorable matchups with the Chargers, Texans, and Raiders. With 41 passing scores under his belt, expect Manning to shatter Tom Brady's record of 50 touchdown throws from the 2007 campaign.

JAKE CIELY

Just one MVP? I'll give you three candidates with a close pick for one since there are several. Why? Because of the matchups! If owners can survive this week from Robert Griffin, no quarterback has an easier slate in Weeks 15 and 16. No one. With the Falcons and Cowboys on tap, RG3 could win owners a championship on his own. The same goes for his teammate Alfred Morris. One other player I love for all three weeks (for those starting this week) is DeMarco Murray. All three opponents are plus matchups with the Bears, Packers and Redskins. That is the golden trifecta of matchups! Oh, and Murray is simply on a three-game roll already with double-digit points in each game (averaging 17.7 per). So, while I love the potential from both Redskins options and think they could be MVPs, Murray is my ultimate choice, as he can lead fantasy teams in three straight weeks.

ANDY RICHARDSON

First and foremost, Peyton Manning. If he wants to get that touchdown record back, and get a breather in Week 17, he needs to throw 10 TD passes in the next three weeks. So I'm expecting 7-8 in the next two games. Eddie Lacy and Jamaal Charles both have favorable closing schedules. And I'll throw out a darkhorse in Alfred Morris, who faces Atlanta and Dallas in Week 15-16. He could for 200 at Atlanta, putting some teams into Super Bowls.
