Week 20 rankings (composite)

Recap of Conference Championship projections

Ian Allan offers his top 50 for this weekend's games in three different scoring format. The No. 18 guy for the Denver Broncos looks pretty good.

Over the past two days, I posted six different stories showing how I would rank the various players for this weekend’s games – QB, RB, TE, WR, K and Def. Some of those rankings changed a little as the process went on.

So the summarized, current rankings are below. I’m showing the top 50 at each. Actually a few less than 50, since some of the Seattle names are triple-listed to cover the various contingencies for Percy Harvin.

First rankings are for a Standard league. In that one, 6 points for touchdowns, 4 for TD passes, 1 for every 10 run/rec yards, 1 for every 20 passing yards. Kickers get straight NFL points. Defenses get 6 points for TDs, 2 for takeaways and 1 for sacks.

In the second batch of 50, that’s the PPR league. Same as standard, except players are getting 1 point for each catch. Defenses are also different. In that one, defenses getting 1 point for every 2 points under 24. That is, if San Francisco scores 20 points on Sunday, the Seahawks defense would get 2 points. If 49ers score 17 points, the Seahawks would get 3.5 points. If the 49ers score 30 points, the Seahawks would receiver minus-3 points. And so on.

Last group of 50 are the TD-only league. In that one, 6 points for TDs and 4 for TD passes. Kickers standard.

For all of the rankings below, readers might need to tweak to account for positional scarcity. I’m just ranking them 1-50 based on how many points I believe they were score. I’m not sure of the exact format each reader would be using. For most contests, kickers would need to go down (because they’re pretty similar in value).

A little feedback from a long time customer.

Our fantasy pool is entering its 25^th year and I have used multiple books and on-line tools over the years.

I have locked on to Fantasy Index as my go to for the last 5 years and have won the pool 3 of those years and finished no lower than 4^th.

Interesting to see how much more accurate you were at the end of the year compared to other books my competitors used.

I wanted to thank you for such an amazing product and your customer service. I ordered the wrong date for my update and called to correct the mistake. Your customer service person was very kind, helpful and took care of the issue immediately.

I have used your product for the past 18 years or so… Every now and then I will be tempted and look at what other magazines have to offer, quickly realizing no one comes close.

In addition to the magazine, I started buying the weekly updates years ago when my dad taught me a lesson. The draft came and dad was sitting in the 12 hole for his pick. He told me he felt very comfortable about who he was going to select but would not tell me who his prized gem was to be. I was doubtful. The pick? Priest Holmes (his first dynamite year). I remember telling my dad, "that is a decent pick but they plan to pull him at the goal line." Ever the teacher, dad explained he had purchased the Fantasy Football Index update and read Holmes would get the goal line carries. "Update?", I asked. That was 2002 and Holmes had 21 rushing TDs and Dad won the title! Lesson learned.

By the way, I have made the title game for the last 5 years in a row. Thanks for the detailed, hard work and an great product!
