The Browns have Brian Hoyer in place as their presumptive opening day starter at quarterback, and they signed Vince Young and Tyler Thigpen recently. Still, almost everyone is certain they'll use one of their two first-round picks on a quarterback tonight. The only question is which one.
Depending on who you ask, the Browns either won't be drafting Johnny Manziel, are considering Manziel, believe Teddy Bridgewater will be the best quarterback in the draft, or are hoping to select Derek Carr. Since all of those possibilities can't be true, it's reasonable to consider that perhaps none of them are.
At No. 4, the Browns could take Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans, or Manziel, or maybe Khalil Mack. They could trade up or down, and still take one of those players.
Oh yeah, Peter King thinks the Browns should take an offensive tackle. So there's another hat in the ring.
According to one other story yesterday, the Browns will consider Carlos Hyde, widely considered the draft's top running back, with their second-round pick. That prompted a tweet from Ben Tate wondering why the team would draft someone so high to sit on the bench. Stay healthy, Ben!
One thing is for sure, lots of years there is little mystery in how the first several picks will go. Remember Luck, Griffin, Richardson, Kalil, Blackmon? That's not the case this year.
