It's not a surprise, given that he was the first running back selected, that Bishop Sankey would be ticketed for a major role as a rookie. Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean is especially certain, even with Shonn Greene and Dexter McCluster around, that Sankey will be the guy right away.
"Bank on Sankey being the primary running back" he writes. He goes on to say he thinks Sankey will be the leading rusher, "an all-around talent who it will be hard to keep off the field."
Is he right? Sankey is listed at 5-f0ot-9 and 209 pounds. A little more than Giovani Bernard, a little less than Ray Rice.
Sankey had a big workload at Washington last year, breaking Corey Dillon's school rushing record with 1,870 yards while also scoring 20 TDs.
Looking around at rookie dynasty drafts and rankings, I'm seeing Sankey generally being the first running back selected (though sometimes it's Carlos Hyde). And he's not always a top 3 or 4 pick; first rounds are very wide receiver heavy.
My own rookie draft takes place this weekend; I will post the results on Monday.
