Golden Tate heads to Detroit. How much does that help him?
On the one hand, the Lions have Calvin Johnson, so Tate will be less of a go-to guy. They also have a pair of running backs who each caught over 50 passes last year, and they drafted a pass-catching tight end with the 10th pick of the draft.
On the other hand, Detroit passes a lot more than the Seahawks. Over the last two years, the Lions have attempted a league-high 43 passes per game. They’ve passed even more than the Saints. Seattle, meanwhile, is the only team that has averaged under 26 attempts per game.
