Graham a TE: ex-WR says he is too

The NFL's ruling came down yesterday on the Jimmy Graham situation, with a win for the Saints. The league determined he's a tight end, not a wide receiver, enabling New Orleans to franchise him at the lower salary amount.

Former Saints wideout Lance Moore, unsurprisingly, sided with his former teammate. "If he's a tight end, Marques Colston and I played a lot of tight end last season, too!"

Graham's side will now appeal, so things aren't over, but it seems unlikely an appeal will change anything; how much new evidence could there reasonably be? League commissioners can take a breath and continue to classify Jimmy Graham as a tight end, giving him a lot more value in leagues than if he were suddenly a wide receiver.

Graham led all tight ends by a wide margin in receptions (86) and yards (1215) last year. He was 13th and 15th in those categories when wideouts were included.
