Yesterday I posted a table showing team takeaways over the past three seasons. A reader, Pat Mathiesen from California, asked if we knew how many of those have been returned for touchdowns. We track those each season, as well, and that information is below.
The Patriots were No. 1 in takeaways over the past three seasons. In terms of takeaways returned for touchdowns (fumbles or interceptions), they're pretty good, tied for 2nd with a handful of other teams. Far and away the best team in this regard, though, are the Bears.
Chicago has returned a stunning 21 fumbles or interceptions for touchdowns over the past three seasons. That's not only tops in the league, it's nearly twice as many as every other team. Pretty remarkable.
