When a six-time Pro Bowl guard gets traded, that seems like as good a time as any to revise the offensive line rankings. We actually update these in our files on a daily basis, because stuff keeps happening. Yesterday was the Logan Mankins trade from New England to Tampa Bay, but over the weekend Green Bay lost center J.C. Tretter for up to six weeks, hurting their line, as well.
We'll have some clarity shortly on when Miami might get Mike Pouncey back at center. Apparently the team hasn't yet decided whether to place him on the regular season PUP list (which would cost him the first six games of the season) or not.
The Bills, meanwhile, have Cordy Glenn back at left tackle. That gives their line a boost in the rankings, to the satisfaction of those who disagreed with their low ranking in our previous update.
Overall rankings are below. Underneath that, we've ranked the league's left tackles from 1-32. Keep in mind, these rankings are fluid, and will probably change a lot once we see how players hold up. Jake Matthews, for example, should eventually be an elite left tackle, but right now he's starting there strictly because Sam Baker is out for the season. Still, he'll probably ascend the list fairly quickly.
To see how we grade each starting lineman on each team, see the colorful table on our Facebook page. If you think we've missed the boat anywhere in these rankings, feel free to weigh in, and we'll consider all opinions in future updates.
