Week 3 Super League

The Super League is back. It's a free, simple game that we offer as a thank-you for our subscribers.

Week 1 wasn't great, but Week 2 was decent. My 148 cracked the top 30 percent of participants, and I'm now up into the top half of the overall standings. Let's keep the momentum going here as I continue to cruise up into double digits in the standings.

The rules are simple. Pick 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 2 TEs, and 2 PKs each week. Highest point total from that starting lineup wins the week.

You can sign up to play at http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2014/FantasyIndex. It will be tough to win the overall if you haven't played the first two weeks, but there are weekly prizes, too.

Let's get to it.

Quarterbacks: Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers. Brees is home against a Vikings defense that I'm thinking may have other things on their mind this week. Rodgers typically carves up Detroit, and the Lions are also tough to run on.

Running Backs: Arian Foster and DeMarco Murray. Foster is Houston's entire offense. Murray has faced the Rams twice in the past and simply ran all over them in both games. Stevan Ridley against Oakland has some sneaky value for the bold.

Wide Receivers: Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones and Jordy Nelson. The Jones pick reminds me to get my lineup in before tomorrow night. I may switch from Nelson to Cobb; we'll see. Green Bay versus Detroit should be a pass-dominated shootout.

Tight Ends: Jimmy Graham and Julius Thomas. Maybe Delanie Walker over Thomas; maybe. But really, these guys are the two best tight ends in the game at the moment (at least until Gronk is fully healthy).

Kickers: Mike Nugent and Justin Tucker. I'm kind of ticked at Nugent since his three missed field goals killed me last week in a 1-point loss. But fantasy football isn't about carrying grudges. Or is it? Whatever, both these guys look good.

Good luck to all of you.
