I'm requesting a favor. There's a sort-of interesting deal with San Francisco's wide receivers. They used to start for Baltimore. And I'm trying to figure out if that kind of thing has happened before.
I haven't thought of a good way to conclusively cross-check.
Basically, Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith were Baltimore's starting wide receivers two years ago. They were that team's most productive wide receivers. Now they'll start together in San Francisco, where they should do the same.
Can anybody recall an instance where this happened before? The Jets had Plaxico Burress and Santonio Holmes working together, but they didn't start together with the Steelers. Similarly, the Jets right now have Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker (both former Broncos) but they didn't play together.
Can anybody think of the last time this happened with a pair of wide receivers? (Or if it happened at all?)
If there's not a WR-WR pair, then maybe it's happened with a tight end and a wide receiver.
Any help would be appreciated.
