Andre Ellington

Back says he welcomes David Johnson pick

Sometimes players aren't thrilled when possible competition is drafted, saying they wanted to be traded or hinting at disrespect or whatnot. But Andre Ellington is saying all the right things regarding Arizona's third-round selection of David Johnson.

Ellington also says the foot injury that troubled him all of last season is behind him. ""It's like night and day," he said. "During the season I was limited on some cuts going to the right, pushing off my left foot. I'm close to doing a lot of things I've done in the past."

Ellington, you may recall, was a popular preseason breakout pick. But he suffered a foot injury right before the season and struggled for most of the year. He also dealt with a hip and sports hernia issues. He won't be a hotly sought after target this season.

But just maybe, the injuries were the problem. And with Johnson around to lighten his load, maybe he'll look more like the player he was in his rookie season of 2013.

In any case, there's potential PPR value there if he falls too far in drafts. As long as you back that pick up with Johnson in a late round, anyway.
